When inspecting a roof by hand, the accuracy of the results is only as good as the person holding the tape measure. And even if that person is an experienced roofing contractor, human error is unavoidable.
Drone reports come with Photos, Assess Summary Report, Date of Loss, Claim, Storm Date, Structure Decision whether to Replace or Repair, Roof Details, Facets and Measurements.
While there are some doubts about how thorough a drone can inspect a roof, the technology is so advanced that a drone inspection is often more accurate than a manual inspection. Drones can find water leaks in the roof envelope, a concealed area of the roof.

If you believe the damage will cost more than your deductible to repair, or there's a lot of damage, you may want to file a claim. It's important to notify your insurance company as soon as you know there's damage and you decide to file a claim. We suggest having your damage inspected by a licensed Roofing Contractor. We can assist you through this process.
Once you file your claim, your insurance company will assign your case to an adjuster, typically within a couple of days. The adjuster is the person responsible for inspecting the damage and determining whether it's covered and how much compensation you will receive.
Wind is one of the most common causes of storm damage. Storm winds can cause trees to fall, power lines to snap, and roofs to be torn off homes and buildings. Depending on the severity of the wind, it can also cause damage to windows, doors and other parts of your exterior.
To identify storm damage on your roof, look for missing or damaged shingles, dents or cracks on metal parts, water leaks, or any visible signs of debris impact. It's a good idea to have a professional roofing inspection to assess the extent of the damage and determine if repairs are needed.
If you are having a lot of granule loss, or if you're noticing a lot of granules down in your gutters or at the end of your downspouts washing away, that very possibly is a sign that your roof has received hail damage. A lot of people don't even know their homes have received hail damage.
The most common sign of hail damage on your roof entails various dents. You will spot dents on the roof shingles, vents, gutters, flashing, and other features around your roof. In most situations, these dents are less than half an inch in diameter, but more massive hailstones will cause more visible marks.
When a shingle is missing from an old roof, it can be hard to tell whether wind took it off or whether something else removed it. A professional roofer should do a full roof inspection of any roof with missing shingles. They may be able to tell you if wind was the culprit or not. Either way, the missing shingles will need to be replaced. If the shingles are falling off because they are at the end of their life span, and not because of unusual wind, your roofer may suggest that you replace the whole roof.
Winter may bring another enemy to your rooftop: ice dams. These are ice buildups that often appear on the edges of roofs and can spill over into the gutters. It’s a common misconception that you can resolve ice dams by fixing the shingles beneath them. While shingle repairs may be necessary, they don’t address the underlying cause of the ice dam.
Ice dams develop when heat and moisture from your home cannot escape the attic. Without proper ventilation, the roof is too warm. The snow that falls on the roof melts, and the resulting water runs down the roof. Before it enters the gutters, the water reaches the colder part of the roof, where it freezes. This ice buildup can put pressure on the shingles and even push beneath the shingle sealant.
Properly installed ice and water protector can stop water from entering your attic due to ice dams, but it will not prevent ice dams from forming. If your roof develops an ice dam, you should ask a roofing professional to ensure you have proper roof ventilation and proper attic insulation. Do not use home remedies, like ice melt, as they may damage your roof. If the ice dam has already created a problem, you may also need a professional to replace the roofing material beneath the ice.
